China’s High-Torque Davinci DC 100 Electrifies European Market

Tumamoto.com – China’s high-performance Davinci DC 100 electric motorcycle is making waves in Europe. With its remarkable specifications and futuristic design, this groundbreaking bike is set to transform the market. In this article, we explore the journey, features, and future of the Davinci DC 100 as it electrifies European motorcycling.

Origins and Development of the Davinci DC 100

Davinci Motor Company, established in China in 2013, has gained prominence for its innovative electric motorcycles. The DC 100, introduced in 2021, showcases a bold design inspired by 1990s Swedish automotive aesthetics. This design is both visually striking and highly functional, efficiently housing the battery and control electronics within a compact frame.

The development of the DC 100 involved collaboration with the prestigious Tsinghua University in Beijing. To meet production demands, Davinci opened a state-of-the-art factory in Zibo, China, which began operations in August 2022. At EICMA 2022, the DC 100 made its European debut alongside the DC Classic, offering riders two distinct styles: one with futuristic appeal and the other featuring a semi-classic design influenced by Café Racer and Bobber elements.

Both models incorporate advanced technology, including autonomous braking and obstacle avoidance features, setting a new standard for electric motorcycles.

Introducing the FM Factory Torque 1/1

In 2025, the Davinci DC 100 will be rebranded as the Torque 1/1 for the European market, distributed by Italy’s FM Factory, a subsidiary of Filante Corporate. While the core specifications remain unchanged, this premium model comes with a hefty price tag of €101,000.

The Torque 1/1 will be officially unveiled at EICMA 2024. This launch highlights Davinci’s commitment to delivering exceptional electric motorcycles tailored for European riders. With cutting-edge components from brands like Öhlins and Brembo, the Torque 1/1 promises to provide an unparalleled riding experience.

Technical Excellence and Features of the DC 100

The Davinci DC 100 boasts impressive performance metrics. Its 100-kilowatt (136 horsepower) motor accelerates the bike from 0 to 100 km/h in under four seconds, reaching a top speed of 200 km/h. With a maximum torque of 850 Nm, it rivals the power output of traditional high-performance motorcycles like the KTM 1290 Super Duke R.

Equipped with a 17.7 kWh battery, the DC 100 offers a range of 357 kilometers per WLTP standards. The battery supports CCS fast charging, allowing a full recharge in just 30 minutes. These capabilities make it a practical choice for both urban and long-distance riding.

Innovative features further elevate the DC 100’s appeal. A powerful hub motor doubles as a rear brake and enables regenerative braking. This system integrates seamlessly with conventional front brakes, enhancing safety and efficiency. The bike also includes a low-speed maneuvering mode, offering forward and reverse speeds of up to 7 km/h. Additionally, it incorporates hill assist and traction control for superior handling.

Autonomous and Semi-Autonomous Capabilities

Davinci has equipped the DC 100 with groundbreaking semi-autonomous technology. The bike features an electronic power steering (EPS) system that stabilizes and maneuvers the motorcycle automatically. This system enables multiple DC 100 models to operate in a follow-mode convoy, navigating traffic with minimal rider input.

With smartphone integration, riders can control the DC 100 remotely for parking at walking speed. Over-the-air updates ensure that the bike’s software remains up-to-date, offering ongoing improvements and new features. Davinci plans to make its software open-source, encouraging innovation from developers worldwide.

The Path to European Market Domination

Since late 2022, the DC 100 has been available for reservation in Europe, with initial pricing set at €26,000. Despite delays in deliveries and the establishment of a European presence, Davinci remains determined to conquer the market. The Torque 1/1’s significantly higher price reflects its premium components and enhanced features, positioning it as a luxury electric motorcycle.

The 2025 launch aims to solidify Davinci’s reputation as a leader in electric motorcycling. With a unique blend of performance, innovation, and design, the DC 100’s entry into Europe promises to redefine the industry.

Conclusion

The Davinci DC 100 has captured attention with its powerful performance, advanced technology, and striking design. As it transitions into the European market under the Torque 1/1 name, this electric motorcycle represents a new era of mobility. Its autonomous capabilities and premium features set a high standard for competitors.

Though challenges have delayed its European rollout, the DC 100’s upcoming launch in 2025 is highly anticipated. With its combination of cutting-edge technology and luxury appeal, it is poised to leave a lasting impression on the European motorcycle market.
